A load of Adorable ApplePie vectors all ~By StupidLittleCreature
Not a very popular ship but GODDAMN these made my heart explode.
I think this one post doubled the amount of ApplePie artwork in existence.
Just the facts, ma’am.
Entering the final stretch of my “Love Songs in the Key of FiM” project
I’ve mentioned this project a few times in my blog over at Fimfiction, a project in which I write love songs for each of the 15 possible pairings of the Mane Six. I’ve been writing the songs roughly in order of my ship preferences—it’s not coincidental, for example, that the first four songs were for TwiPie, RainbowPie, RariJack, and FlutterDash. I’m nine songs in, with six to go … which means we’re now hitting the ships that I like and understand the least.
The waters are gettin’ choppy, me mateys.
I think I will wait to record the final batch until I’ve finished composing all of the remaining six songs, but in the meantime, here’s a preview of things to come for anyone who’s interested. (As always, guess the ship, win a virtual and calorie-free cookie!)
“Captain and First Mate”
You are my rock in the storm
My shield
You are the warm sunlight
In the field
You are my sanity in this
Crazy world
You are the only one I’d call
My girl
(We are)
A captain and her first mate
Together we ride the waves
If you fall, if I fail
Each other we will save
You are my breath when I
Can’t breathe
You are my eyes when I
Can’t see
You are reliable as the
Day is long
You are the guitar I use to
Play my song
(We are)
A general and sergeant at arms
Together we fight the war
And we know that one another
Is who we’re fighting for
It started out on that cliff
You held onto me and
I held onto you
And as we gazed into
One another’s eyes
We felt something new
And the promises made
Went far deeper than
Either of us could tell
We didn’t fall off that cliff
But in love with one
Another we fell
You are my savior, you are
My love
You are the one, the pony I
Dream of
You are my rest at the end
Of the day
You are the one who always
Knows what to say.
“The Best Scare I’ve Ever Had”
I wish I knew
Just what to say to you
But I don’t
But I don’t
I wish I knew
Just what to say to you
But I don’t
But I don’t
But if I did
Here’s what I might say
The next time
You glanced my way
I’d tell you that
You scare me so bad
And it’s the best scare
I’ve ever had
You always see
A way to believe in me
Even when I don’t
Even when I don’t
You always see
A way to believe in me
Even when I won’t
Even when I won’t
Even when I hid
That phoenix from view
You helped me out
And you got us through
And when you’re near
I always want to say
That you scare me in
The best possible way
I wish I had
The nerve to come clean
To look you in the eye
And say what I mean
I’d tell you that
You scare me so bad
And it’s the best scare
I’ve ever had.“(Gonna Have) A Real Good Time”
She says you remind her
Of back when she was young
Working the fields all day
Never having any fun
And try hard as you might
You never can explain
That you like the work you do
You and her ain’t the same
Then one day she creeps up
With a sneaky little grin
Asks if you got plans and
You admit you’re staying in
But she drags you off the farm
And you head down into town
And this is what she tells you
When she sees you start to frown:
“We’re gonna have a real good time
Gonna have a real good night
We’re gonna stay up until we see
Until we see the morning light”
You hit every bar and club
All up and down the road
And she gives you a big smile
That lifts a heavy load
You dance until you’re numb
You shout until you’re mute
And after that fifth beer
She’s looking pretty cute
And as she takes the stage
And grabs the microphone
She flashes a brief wink
For you and you alone
“We’re gonna have a real good time
Gonna have a real good night
We’re gonna stay up until we see
Until we see the morning light”
You come out of the last bar
Stumbling on your own four feet
She leans in close against you
And she’s smelling mighty sweet
And you have to admit
That you had some real fun
With this crazy party girl
The party’s just begun
And once you walk her home
You pause in her doorway
Stare into her baby blues
And you hear yourself say:
“We’re gonna have a real good time
Gonna have a real good night
We’re gonna stay up until we see
Until we see the morning light
We’re gonna have a real good time
Gonna have a real good night
We’re gonna stay up until we see
Until we see the morning light.”
I knew from the very title of “Captain and First Mate” that it was the TwiJack song, based on our discussions in the past of Applejack being Twilight’s second-in-command. I didn’t get that “The Best Scare I’ve Ever Had” was TwiShy until you mentioned the phoenix, I’m afraid. “(Gonna Have) A Real Good Time” was obviously ApplePie from the first stanza.
A set of Ponies kissing. I guess I like the not so popular pairings, though I think the Flutterdash one has been gaining more attention and popularity ever since that moment from the season finale where it looked like they actually kissed, even having a sound effect that suspiciously sounded like a smooch.
